About these terms
These Terms form a contract between you and Rayne Social Ltd (“Rayne”, “we”, “us”). Rayne is a UK-first, adults-only social discovery and messaging service. Our address will be published here before launch (Business address to be confirmed before launch).
By creating an account you agree to these Terms and the Community Rules. Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal information. If you do not agree, do not create or use an account.
Who may use Rayne
You must be at least 18, legally able to enter a contract, and permitted to use Rayne under the laws that apply to you. Rayne is intended for people in the United Kingdom during its initial release.
You must give accurate account, age and identity information. You may not create an account for another person, impersonate anyone, evade a suspension, or sell, transfer or share your account.
Your safety
Rayne helps people discover and communicate with one another; it does not guarantee a match, another person’s identity, intentions, statements, health information or conduct. Verification indicates completion of Rayne’s current verification process, not an endorsement or guarantee.
Distances and online indicators are approximate. Use your judgement, protect personal details, meet in public, tell someone your plans and contact emergency services where there is immediate danger.
Profile or chat statements about HIV, sexually transmitted infections or other health matters are self-reported and are not medical advice or a substitute for testing, professional advice, consent or safer-sex precautions.
Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Rayne a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, transmit, adapt for technical delivery, and review that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and moderate Rayne and comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal records and content another user lawfully retains.
You must have the rights and consent needed to upload and share content. Private albums, disappearing media and unsend controls reduce visibility but cannot prevent screenshots, recording, copying by recipients, moderation review, legal preservation, delivery already completed, or temporary backup retention.
Prohibited use
You must not use Rayne to:
- involve, depict, sexualise, groom or exploit anyone under 18, or share child sexual abuse material;
- share intimate or sexual content without the informed consent of every depicted adult, including altered or synthetic intimate images;
- threaten, stalk, harass, coerce, blackmail, exploit, traffic, discriminate against or promote hatred toward anyone;
- impersonate, deceive, scam, spam, distribute malware, or solicit money through fraud;
- sell illegal goods or services, arrange criminal activity, or infringe privacy, confidentiality or intellectual-property rights;
- scrape, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload or bypass Rayne’s security, safety, access or payment controls.
Moderation, reports and appeals
We may use automated tools and trained reviewers to detect, assess and act on content or behaviour. Depending on context and severity, we may limit reach, remove content, warn, suspend or ban accounts, preserve evidence, or report matters to relevant authorities. We do not promise to monitor everything before it appears.
You can report content or accounts and block another person in the app. If we restrict your content or account, you may appeal using the in-app process or the contact route on this website. We will consider the information available and tell you the outcome where appropriate.
Rayne+ and payments
Rayne+ is an optional subscription. Before purchase, the checkout will show the price, billing period, renewal terms and available cancellation method. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally leaves benefits active until the paid period ends.
Payments and refunds are handled under the terms of the billing provider used at purchase, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. We may change future prices or benefits with advance notice where required.
Ending your account
You may stop using Rayne or request deletion in Settings. Your profile is hidden immediately and the app currently provides a 30-day restoration period before scheduled permanent deletion, subject to limited legal, safety, fraud, backup and dispute records described in the Privacy Notice.
We may restrict or end access for a serious or repeated breach, safety risk, legal requirement or risk to Rayne or others. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and offer an appeal.
Our responsibility
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, Rayne is provided for personal use and we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract began or for business losses arising from personal use.
Law, complaints and contact
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under consumer law.
